Ranked amongst the top ten stand-ups in Britain by The Independent, Ian Stone is one of the most talented topical acts and comperes in the country. He'll be performing at September Barnstormers gig. Edgy and provocative, with an easy-going manner and self-depreciating style, Ian is at great ease bantering with an audience. He's a member of the Comedy Store's critically acclaimed 'Cutting Edge' team. Ian also received a nomination in 2012 for the Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards.
He has performed all over the world including Comedy Festivals in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, South Africa, Holland, France, Ireland and Germany. He’s entertained the troops in Kuwait, Bosnia,Kosovo, Cyprus and Afghanistan. He was the first British stand-up to perform in Moscow and the first performer to appear for The Comedy Store in Mumbai.

What is your idea of perfect happiness? 
Arsenal winning the Champions League by beating Spurs in the final

What lies at the heart of your own desire to write and perform standup comedy?
Pain and the nightly need for adoration from strangers

From your favourite poem – could you give us a few lines that mean something to you?
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul - Bob Dylan, Don’t think twice it’s Alright

If you were to die and come back as a person, animal or a thing, what would it be?
I find this question hard to contemplate. Does the person, animal or thing I’m coming back as have to die? Am I overthinking this?

What is your greatest extravagance?
As a family, we spend a tremendous amount on fruit. Does that count?

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Living in London seems to work for me. Also, things that piss me off

Which artwork/film/book has most inspired you?
'Fiddler on the Roof' and 'Cabaret'. I love a musical.

I genuinely don’t have a favourite of either. I’m on Twitter a lot

Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
If you’re going badly, get off. If you’re going well, get off

Best recent read?
Just read Mary Beards SPQR. Really good. Also enjoyed Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall

What is your final word?
Deleterious. I really like that word.
