Out-of-this-world Mars Krispie Cakes

Ingredients

200g (7 oz) chocolate

3 (60g) Mars Bars, chopped

90g (3 ½ oz) unsalted butter

260g (9 oz) Rice Krispies cereal

 

Preparation method

1. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl, set over a pan of simmering water. This can be left to melt as you do the next step or microwave gently to melt.

 

2. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat; once the butter has started to melt add the chopped mars bars. Stir constantly as some parts of the mars take longer to melt than others.

 

3. Add the cereal, saving about a third to add in last. Mix well making sure all the cereal is covered; mix in last of the cereal. Spread evenly in a Swiss roll tin or put in small cake cases. Cover with chocolate and leave to set or put in paper cases. Decorate with hundreds and thousands or sweets before chocolate sets.

 

4. Cut into squares or fingers if in a tin.
