2008 is Poetry Cafe's Fifth Birthday!
Salisbury Poetry Cafe is a forum for poets and writers to share their work in a relaxed and friendly environment, providing the opportunity for budding writers to meet people, make new friends and take part in the open mic sessions.
Held on the last Thursday of every month , the evening gives you the chance to come along and listen to the guest poet and local poets, and take part yourself in the open mic sessions.
The Poetry Café also organises some poetry workshops giving local professional and amateur poets the chance to improve their skills.

Poetry Cafe is very popular. Here are some of the comments we have received in the part few months:
'Brilliant evenings always here! By far the best of all the venues I go to to read poetry'
'Excellent variety of poetic voices. Thank you for an entertaining evening one and all. Inspiring venue too'
'I think it's great! I wish I could go more often...
I like the fact that tickets are quite cheap, making Poetry Cafe accessible to everyone.
I wouldn't change a thing.'
'Friendly, informed but well organised with a good variety of events
- excellent leadership by Grace Gauld. The best poetry venue I attend.'
