Our Funding

Salisbury Arts Centre is the trading name of St Edmunds Arts Trust Limited (charity number 1023945).

The Arts Centre programmes a huge number of events throughout the year (a total of 1744 in 2012/13!). Last year 52% of our particpatory events were completely free to those taking part. Our outreach and education work expands all the time, and we now have two full time staff dedicated to this important aspect of our charitable mission. However, providing such high quality cultural experiences is expensive, so we receive funding from a diverse range of sources.

Earned Income

Last financial year our ticket sales and workshop fees covered 20% of our total expenditure. 

Other earned income (including bar and café sales) paid for 27% of total expenditure.

This means that over half of our costs have to be met with grants and donations.

Trusts, Foundations, and Core Funders

Our major funders are the Arts Council of England and Wiltshire Council. Their combined grants paid for just under half of our costs last year. 

We also receive generous support from charitable trusts for various projects throughout the year. If you represent a grant making body, we would love to tell you about some current projects that require funding. Individuals

Donations are a vital part of our income and our supporters help us meet the final proportion of our costs that aren't covered by ticket sales.

As a multi arts venue we have a wide range of events that you can sponsor as a business. From one off performances to a full season, we can arrange a package suitable to your level of investment.
