Salisbury Community Choir Performance

20 May 2017 Music 7.30pm
Salisbury Community Choir
Tickets: £15

A breezy concert of flowing music, sultry sounds,  glistening rhythms, raindrops and sunshine.

This light-hearted evening brings the SCC and Sarum Six together in song, including some favourite folk, popular and amusing arrangements all with a watery, weather theme - ‘On a fair morning’, ‘A British Tar’ from HMS Pinafore, ‘Singin’ in the rain’ and ‘Over the rainbow’ to name but a few!

The SCC and Sarum Six will sing together ‘Under the Sea’, arranged by Philip Lawson, from the enchanting Disney film ‘The Little Mermaid’ and the Concert will end with the very entertaining ‘Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo’ by Michael Flanders and Joseph Horovitz.

Sarum Six are a recently formed male voice ensemble with a great pedigree and a rising reputation.  The group includes Philip Lawson, a glorious Baritone who sang with The King's Singers for 18 years and is a world renowned singer, composer, arranger and teacher.  Ian Wicks, Richard Hooper, Jamal Sutton, Stephen Abbott and James Ottaway  -  a wonderful blend and spectacular sound!

The fabulous Jeremy Backhouse conducts, with the very talented David Coram on piano.
